Quilt Petite Blog Hop + Zakka Giveaway !

My first book Quilt Petite is finally officially released - hooray! I'm so thrilled about this - the past few weeks have been such a whirlwind, with so many emails from readers and friends, and reviews are beginning to trickle in. Much to my relief the book's got a great reception so far, already it's hit '#1 new release' in several categories on Amazon, including the 'Sewing' and 'Needlework' categories (seriously, pinch me!!)  It's so lovely to see all the hard work I've put into creating this book finally coming to fruition. A big thank you to my publishers Tuva for making this dream of mine come true.

This book encompasses my love for all 'small quilty things'. It's not a book about just mini quilts - there are place mats, pot holders, sewing organisers & noticeboards, cushions, doll quilts, table toppers, mug rugs... you get the picture. I designed the projects in this book to be 'doable' for novice sewists, but there are also lots of different techniques which will hopefully set new challenges for the more experienced sewists: English paper piecing, foundation paper piecing, regular patchwork, three different methods of applique, hand-embroidery, hand quilting - the list goes on. If you sew every single project in this book, you will pretty much master every sewing technique that I know today. As a self-taught sewist it was really important to me that my book was not only inspirational, but also educational.

To celebrate the launch of Quilt Petite I have of course asked my favourite sewing bloggers to join me on a blog hop. I am truly blessed that so many of them said yes! Here's the full blogger roster, we are kicking off tomorrow with Wynn from Zakka Art. You can follow us on Instagram and Facebook with the hashtags #quiltpetitebloghop and #quiltpetite. I purchased your book to make your cushion on the front because it's o adorable, and the inside projects bring such joy! If I were to win, I'd send my copy cross country to my friend who is having some time to herself since she's caring for her hubby with some dementia/health issues and I think it'll brighten her day! I absolutely recommend your book Sedef, it's so amazingly adorable with lots of cute projects! ❤❤

My last project was a zipper pouc, made with 42 mini charms. Excuse my english, but I speak German and French all day, so sometimes I don't remember some English words. You can also habe a look at my Insta account lapetitefrance_ and on facebook. Congrats for your book, it seems fabulous. Greetings from Germany, Nicole

  132. I began sewing when I was quite young and made practically all my own clothes when I was a teenager. Later, when my children were small I enjoyed making cute outfits for my girls. My kids are grown up now so I've moved on to quilt making which is probably my favourite kind of sewing. I have several grandchildren now so I've come full circle and am making cute dresses and dollies again!

The quilting is so much less time consuming on smaller projects so this helps. Would love to win and congratulations on your new book! Thank you, peterstankovich@comcast.net

  165. This book looks exactly like something I would love, especially since I love to sew many different things, but need almost instant gratification, so it makes so much more sense to make mini things, rather than doing full sized, or even lap sized quilts. We have 9 great grandchildren to sew for, along with 10 grandchildren and I love giving hand made gifts to them at Christmas, and on birthdays. lv2bquilting2@comcast.net

  170. I am very much getting into sewing "small". I belong to an online group where we made a "little" quilt per month, which was fun. Then next we made "itty bitty" quilts per month. Loved both, however I am a bit behind on them. But that's because something new comes along and . . .
Thanks for the opportunity to win this awesome giveaway! So many goodies!

  182. Hello Sedef
I would love to make something from your new book it looks amazing. Usually everything I make I give away! I started making personlised cushions for my children's friends for their birthdays and Christmas as so many have unusual names. I also help with customising costumes for our local theatre company, currently making shoe covers for the backing dancers in the Wizard of Oz panto! I would love to win your book, so I can make something nice for me, or more presents! Thank you. Dee

I think the book would be perfect for her. Thanks for a chance to win. Janita
